MediaEffects library - Android

caution

The MediaEffects library (live.videosdk:videosdk-media-effects) does not work with Android SDK 3.0.0. Its BackgroundImageProcessor, BackgroundBlurProcessor and BackgroundColorProcessor cannot be used, and 3.0.0 has no built-in virtual background. Remove the library from your app when you upgrade.

  • To change the camera frames yourself, use a video processor with VideoSDK.applyVideoProcessor(). See Video Processor.
  • 3.0.0 has its own camera effects: auto-framing, low-light correction, stylized looks and color grades. Turn them on with VideoSDK.setVideoEffects() and a VideoEffectsConfig that uses Pipeline.GRAPH; with the default Pipeline.LEGACY no effect renders. Auto-framing also needs the subject's position from your own detector, passed to VideoSDK.publishFramingSubject(). See the Video Effects guide and setVideoEffects().
  • For the other changes in 3.0.0, see the Migration Guide.
